Finally my first post! I meant to start this back in April, but I had a hard time figuring out WordPress. If you want to start a blog but are having issues, please check out this wonderful step-by-step video which got me up and running: WordPress For Beginners Step-By-Step. I am continually astounded by the multitudes of kind people on YouTube who will share their knowledge with you.
So here’s a little background on me. I worked for the Federal government for 30 years and was planning on retiring early in 2028. When the opportunity arose this year for (extra) early retirement, I jumped on it. But leaving a steady paycheck left me needing another income source. Scanning the jobs available was just depressing and prompted me to think about starting an online reselling business.
My family and friends have all been very supportive of this venture. My brothers have been successful part-time resellers for several years now in addition to their day jobs. They let me steal a bunch of their inventory (thanks, guys!) to help me get started. They can also give me some tips and advice that I will pass along to you.
Here are my current goals, which I’m sure will change frequently:
- Set up office and storage areas
- Find and list inventory on eBay
- Branch out to other platforms and different inventory
- Turn a profit!
I’ll share with you the things that work (or don’t) and any lessons I learn. I hope you are also making big and exciting life changes and will attempt this with me!
